If you've never had a website, or if you've had one for many years, this interactive presentation will contain points of interest for everybody.  Through the use of electronic Audience Response Polling devices (like you've seen on "Who wants to be a millionaire?"), attendees will be able to participate in "real time" to instantly determine the group opinion on various web related issues of interest to us all.

Topics will include: Browser Compatibility, Technology Selection,

Screen Size Resolution, Bandwidth, Media Players, Streaming Video

Site Promotion, Keyword Selection, Search Engine Ranking

Just to name a few ...

This presentation will give you tips and insight on creating a new website, or updating your existing site to conform with the ever changing web technology and standards.

Work Shop 2  Adam L. Goldstein of ATech Services, LLC and one of our members Jeffrey S Surofsky of youmakethememories.com

"Information Technology and The Small Business".

This workshop focuses on how small business owners, such as PVCJ members can maximize the efficiency of their business PCs. I will also address the fact that business networks are not as costly as many business owners think.

A little about Atech......"ATech Services is a premier provider of on-site IT services to small and medium businesses, as well as residential customers, throughout New Jersey."

Workshop 1 Dave Hall will be presenting our first workshop

Synopsis:  Dark shadows? Brighten the corner where you are? Light up your life? Corny catchphrases aside, lighting is one of the most important elements of a shoot. Even natural light often needs to be amplified and/or controlled to get everything just right.

Overwhelmingly, DVD is the presentation medium of choice of the 21st century. Our main speaker, Dave Hall of Davideo Multimedia LLC, will discuss lighting for DVD and other nuances of the art and craft of illumination. He will also demo a lighting kit and answer audience questions.  If you've ever been involved with lighting, wish to be - or have even just gotten lit! - this important and useful meeting will shed some light on a subtle but important part of our professional life.

Workshop 2 Craig Gonzales will be presenting our second workshop on Edius 4

The DVD Experience Angela Trupiano

DVD allows us to take a "non linear" approach to our productions. It also allows us to bring interactivity to our clients. As an Event Videographer, you no longer need to edit and distribute productions in the traditional linear fashion. Changing that approach is what will separate YOU from YOUR competitors. Award- Winnng Editor Angela Trupiano will show you how to take full advantage of the DVD format. She will help you think outside of the box as she demonstrates new ideas for video segments that you already create and brand new features like the Trivia Game and DVD-Rom features.

Bring in your authored DVD

Bring along a DVD. Do you wonder which programs are best? What type of openings can various programs create? We will be comparing DVDs. Many members use different software. This is where you get to participate, bring in one you have authored. Remember learning from each other raises the standard of our industry thus creating a stronger industry and more work for all of us. So come and share what you use.

Tim will dig deep into pricing, shopping habits, and business philosophy… this is where the conversation will often get pretty intense.  Tim invites the attendees to “challenge” his position and philosophy.  Invariably someone does, which will lead to great debate.  Attendees can’t help but go home scratching their heads wondering if I’m right/wrong or if I even belong in this business…

Work Shop2: Steve Wernick,
The Video Critique: Artistic Achievement Preparations

Every year, many organizations offer video awards programs.  In addition, many local associations also have video competitions.  Rarely, however, is an expert critique available.  Steve Wernick, a Creative Excellence judge (1998) and moderator for the final round of Creative Excellence judging (2001-2003) has developed an entertaining presentation designed to help every videographer understand how to produce outstanding videos.

One or two (anonymous) submissions from your local association members are welcomed.  Deconstructing tapes from your area helps your meeting attendees directly relate to the lessons.  If there are no volunteers, Steve does have a number of tapes that he can bring.

Videographers often work in isolation, and do not always have the opportunity to understand exactly what goes into producing excellent videos.  This program is designed to let videographers understand the “nuts and bolts” of wedding video productions.

Kathy and Al Ritondo will be speaking to us about Podcasting

Podcasting comes from two words: iPod and broadcasting, combined.

You don’t need an iPod to listen to the audio program. Any MP3 player do ok. You can also listen to the audio program on your computer, which is how we suspect most of our audience will listen.

You need an internet connection (preferably broadband), and speakers or headphones. If you have a dial-up connection, you may experience horrific download time.

A podcast is an MP3 audio file that you can download from the Internet. Once the MP3 audio file has been downloaded, you can either listen to it from your computer or you can transfer it to your MP3 player - which is great because you decide when an where you want to listen to it. It comes to you automatically in your computer as it is uploaded on our end to the internet.

Show us your stuff, Bring in any video you would like to share...

Open disscussion...Many members said they get the most out of the open disscusions, so if you have a question or something to share this is your chance. The second half will be video clips and open discussion.

Work Shop 1: Tim Ryan, from The 4Ever Group "The Secrets to Successful Sales Presentations"

There is fierce competition for every dollar in the wedding industry these days.  Having an outstanding video is but one part of the sales process; you have to be able to “touch” the client.  If you can sell successfully, you’re more likely to achieve both your artistic and financial goals.  Knowing the right strategies will give you an advantage over your competition.

Tim Ryan, a co-founder of The 4EVER Group, and a videographer with nearly twenty years of experience, will share many of the factors that, when utilized correctly, can help transform appointments into bookings.

Be prepared to learn how to properly qualify a prospect, how to build rapport and trust, and why so many prospects seem afraid to ask questions during the appointment.  Tim will explain what an “up-front contract” is, and why it can be one of your best sales tools.

Within the sales call itself, Tim will guide you through the normal stalling tactics and objections that a couple might throw at you, and then take you to the money shot: how to close the sale.Tim Ryan, of Massapequa, NY, operates Treasured Memories Video with his wife, Lee Ann.  Being a videographer and an educator means, Tim is able to detail the process in a way that most members of a local association can quickly grasp.
